I write by way of recommendation of Angharad Parry’s Hypnotherapy practice based at Gilwern, Abergavenny. Angharad is a warm, non judgemental person and will work with you to enable you to reach your individual goals, in very calm and peaceful setting. Your needs will differ from mine, but I will relate to my journey to show the efficacy and power of hypnotherapy. I contacted Angharad when I realised that stress and depression were impacting on my life and I felt unable to focus on everyday life and get back on career path. I just talked myself out of applying for jobs, had poor concentration and just didn’t enjoy doing the things that had formerly made me feel good. I was frustrated and at low ebb after several years of being a carer to my partner following her emergency neuro surgery, leaving her registered blind, and after me having a triple bypass operation. Angharad worked with me to stop the chest pains I experienced when my partner started pushing my buttons. The hypnotherapy gives you respite to look at things in an alternative perpective. Angharad gives you the tools to stop the negative clouds rolling in, and, from a better understanding of your own thought process, puts you back in control. There is no black magic, this is you, but on a good day – consistently. I’m pleased to say the chest pains stopped and normal service has resumed. If you were to ask me for a scale of how good hypnotherapy is, I would answer that for me, it was the second only to the positively life changing bypass operation.

I contacted Angharad after suffering with anxiety for years. I tried medication, meditation and other recommended solutions but nothing seemed to work. Angharad welcomed me into her home and the smell of lavender, her soft voice and friendly approach put me instantly at ease. I took on board everything that Angharad said and thoroughly enjoyed the sessions. I found it extremely relaxing and having chance to offload my worries, I felt an enormous sense of relief. I noticed a marked difference in myself and my attitude to life in a very short space of time. I also noticed that between sessions my positivity snowballed. Angharad has been amazing. I found it really hard to admit how much I struggled with anxiety, doing the classic thing of citing all the reasons other people were having a harder time than me and feeling guilty that I was the one who “couldn’t cope” I was lucky to have NHS psychology support to talk through all the awful things I’d seen as a doc during COVID, but none of that helped me move forwards. Angharad promised her therapy would be rapid and it was. 4 sessions and every week things just made sense and got better. Anxiety is rubbish physically and mentally, just having Angharad listen and sew little problems to be solved enabled me to stop focusing on guilt and worry and find my own solutions to get on with life
